The Massachusetts ADRC is an active supporter of the Alzheimer's Association's (MA & NH chapters) Greater Boston Memory Walk fundraising event. For several years, our Center's director, Dr. Bradley T. Hyman, has served as the Honorary Medical Chair of this successful event.
According to the Alzheimer's Association, the Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Since 1989, the Walk has raised more than $300 million for the cause.
The Walk is a community event that joins friends, family and co-workers as they walk to end Alzheimer's. Participants typically register in teams of 10-12 and fund-raise using tools supported by the Association. Walk routes vary from 1 to 3 miles.
This year, Dr. Hyman's lab at the MGH surpassed its goal of raising $1,000 for the Alzheimer's Association by raising $2,150 for the Memory Walk!
