2019 Massachusetts General Hospital Clinical Fellowship in Dementia

The Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) is pleased to announce an opening for a two-year Clinical  Fellowship in Dementia at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and related institutions beginning July 1, 2019.

The goal of the non-degree program is to introduce exceptionally-qualified individuals to the successes and demands of a clinical career in dementia and related neurodegenerative diseases, and to provide an unparalleled foundation for potential leadership roles in academic medicine, industry or related fields.

2017 Center of Excellence for Delirium in Aging: Research, Training and Educational Enhancement Delirium Research Boot Camp

Our colleagues at the Center of Excellence for Delirium in Aging:  Research, Training & Educational Enhancement (CEDARTREE) are offering their 5th 'delirium boot camp' in Boston from November 1-3, 2017 and we'll love to help them get the word out:

The 3-day intensive course on delirium research will be held at the Inn at the Longwood Medical Center (342 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115) and recognized experts in the field will discuss cutting-edge research approaches, from assessment and methodology to novel technologies and interventions. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with world-renowed experts in delirium and related fields.

MGH Multicultural Neuropsychology Program (MUNDOS): 2017 Summer Training Workshops

The Massachusetts General Hospital's (MGH) Multicultural Program (MUNDOS) has announced its summer training workshops for Spanish-speaking individuals (ages 50 & over) who are interested in improving their memory, attention and thinking skills in general.  Classes will be held on the main campus of the MGH on designated Fridays from 12pm - 2pm and registration is required.

Network for Investigation of Delirium across the U.S. (NIDUS): Call for Pilot Proposals on Delirium Research

The Network for Investigation of Delirium across the U.S. (NIDUS) is offering two $50,000 pilot grants for proposals related to delirium research. The purpose of these awards is to encourage innovative research that will advance investigation in delirium and lead to future grant funding.

 

Applications are due on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017, 5:00pm EST.

 

Proposals must be related to delirium research in the following priority areas:

  1. Risk factors, prognosis, outcomes
  2. Pathophysiology, mechanisms, biomarkers, genomics and other-'omics' approaches
  3. Diagnostic tools and phenomenology
  4. Clinical interventions for prevention and treatment

 

Two application treaks are available; junior investigator track and established investigator track.

2017 Call for Pilot Projects

The Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (“MADRC”) is pleased to announce a Call for pilot project proposals on Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and related dementias for funding from April 1, 2017 - March 31, 2018.

 

The Call is open to investigators from within the Harvard community – including the Harvard-affiliated hospitals and institutions - with priority given first to junior investigators, then to senior investigators who are new to AD and related dementias research and finally, to established investigators with a new line of such research that lacks funding.

 

The MADRC anticipates that up to 3 awards in the direct cost amount of up to $40,000 per project will be awarded for the aforementioned 1-year funding period.

Call for Applications: 2016 Neurodegenerative Diseases Pilot Study Grants Program

The Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center (“HNDC”) and the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (“MADRC”) are co-funding novel ideas for pilot projects aimed at understanding and developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. Together, we are pleased to announce a joint call for pilot study applications from investigators within the Harvard community, including the affiliated hospitals and institutions.

 

Grants with a dollar value up to $40,000 (direct costs) will be awarded for the duration of one year. This award cycle anticipates funding between five and eight awards.

 

Anticipated Schedule of Deadlines and Reviews

Request for Proposals announced: October 9, 2015

Applications due: November 20, 2015

Recipients announced: January 8, 2016

Awards start: April 1, 2016

Call for Applications: MGH-MIT Strategic Partnership Grand Challenge 3: Neuroscience

The Massachusetts General Hospital's (MGH) Executive Committee on Research (ECOR) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has announced a call for proposals to develop joint ventures that will link basic and clinical research that will accelerate progress towards more effective diagnostic approaches and therapies in clinical neuroscience. All applications must be comprised of a team with at least 1 MIT and 1 MGH faculty member.

A Letter-of-Intent and accompanying proposal coversheet is due by February 6, 2015.
