Call for Applications: Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Core Center's 2011 Pilot Grants

New proposals or initiatives for biomedical, epidemiological, behavioral, legal, ethical, health systems or other research in Alzheimer's disease are encouraged. Two NIH-funded proposals for $25,000 in direct costs for 1-year, non-renewable studies will be awarded.

2011 French Fondation Plan Alzheimer Research Grants Competition: Call for Senior Innovative Team Applications

The Fondation De Cooperation Scientifique Pour La Recherche Sur La Maladie D'Alzheimer & Les Maladies Apparentees (www.fondation-alzheimer.org) has issue a Call for Senior Innovative Team applications from investigators who have strong backgrounds in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders to apply for a grant from the Fondation. The grant will offer a five-year salary for the Principal Investigator, two additional salaries for co-applicants, and a budget for consumables and supplies.

The Fondation De Cooperation Scientifique Pour La Recherche Sur La Maladie D'Alzheimer & Les Maladies Apparentees (www.fondation-alzheimer.org) has issue a Call for Junior Researchers who have post-doctoral experiences to apply for a grant from the Fondation. The grant will offer a three-year salary that could be extended for two supplemental years.

The Harvard Catalyst Geriatric Depression Working Group and LaUNCH

Are you a researcher with an interest in the area of late-life depression? On February 17, 2011, join a new working group at Harvard Medical School and its affiliated institutions to address gaps in research on geriatric depression for a full-day workshop called LaUNCH, which would include presentations by distinguished investigators and guest speakers.

The Working Group will focus on four different research tracks:

1.  Biomarkers and emerging translational tools

2.  Measurement, including refinements for diverse populations

2011 Massachusetts ADRC/Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center Call for Applications: Neurodegenerative Disease Pilot Study Grant Program

The Massachusetts ADRC and the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center have joined forces to fund the best novel ideas for pilot projects aimed at understanding and developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.  Together, we are pleased to announce a joint call for pilot study applications from investigators within the Harvard community.  Grants with a dollar value up to $30,000 (direct costs) will be awarded for the duration of one-year.  A total of $180,000 is available.

2011 Charles A. King Trust Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program

The Charles A. King Trust will award two-year grants in the basic science and clinical/health services research beginning on July 1, 2011.  This grant is only available for researchers at Massachusetts institutions.

The funding period will be from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013, and fellowships will range from $43,500 - $51,000 annually, which is inclusive of a $2,000 expense allowance.

2011 Massachusetts General Hospital Call for Preliminary Applications: The Ellison Medical Foundation New Scholar Program in Aging

The objective of The Ellison Medical Foundation (www.ellisonfoundation.org) New Scholars Program is to support new investigators of outstanding promise in the basic biological sciences relevant to understanding lifespan development processes and age-related diseases and disabilities. The award is intended to provide significant support to new investigators needed to permit them to become established in the field of aging.
